ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
Geothermal energy is one of the renewable energy sources with the lowest harmful side effects on the environment. The fluid, which is brought to the ground by closed pipes from different depths of the underground, is transmitted to the heat exchangers and after the heat energy is taken, it is pumped back to the source from the re-injection wells with a closed system. In this closed system, the by-products in the geothermal fluid can be separated without being released into the nature when it is desired to be used industrially.
For example, in Western Anatolian geothermal systems, carbon dioxide gas in the fluid can be separated without being released to the nature and commercial earning can be created by using this separated carbon dioxide in greenhouse or food sector.
Enerjeo prioritizes environmental awareness while transforming the natural resources into energy in our country. In all stages of geothermal energy, from research to production, Enerjeo has adopted a working approach that is friendly to the people of the region and the environment.
To prevent pollution and protect the environment, Enerjeo Kemaliye performs environmental impact assessments to achieve the following goals;
- Lowering greenhouse gas emissions to combat climate change;
- Decreasing water consumption;
- Improving water quality and reducing wastewater;
- Preventing environmental pollution;
- Protecting and improving biological diversity in its areas of business activity.
We employ the best available production techniques and technologies to achieve our environmental goals. We ensure that performance is regularly audited, monitored and measured in line with sustainability goals.
