Geothermal energy is an environmental friendly and renewable energy source. Geothermal systems have a natural regeneration process independent of climatic conditions. After the heat energy is taken, the flow of the fluid into the river, lake or sea environment causes great damage to the environment and destroys the sustainability of the reservoir.
Location selection of re-injection wells and well design are as important as production wells. A comprehensive geophysical
research should be done for re-injection wells to select the ones with high porosity and with the capability of feeding the reservoir. After choosing the right location, re-injection tests should be performed, and the fluid should be reintroduced to the system to ensure the sustainability of geothermal energy cycle.
